Fresh Hydrangeas
Every week we get a new batch of flowers from Papa. It’s always a mystery as to what he will bring home. Sometimes it is roses, sometimes mums, and once in a while a flower shows up I’ve never seen before. This week’s flowers were hydrangeas, which always remind me of where Rémy’s Nona lives in Switzerland. So lovely.
Then, every week, Rémy arranges the flowers for his kitchen area. First we talk a little bit about the flowers, and parts of the flower. Then he practices pouring water into the vase before placing in the flowers that have been set out on his tray.
It’s become a ritual that I look forward to very much. With each practice, I get to watch his little hands get better at all the steps.
